I like calendars

I like calendars on weblogs. I prefer calendars to lists of recent entries. I prefer calendars to the "next" and "prev" links I used before.
Most of "The Pros" that are linked on the side don't use calendars. Maybe because their weblogs are less personal; their content doesn't need to be slotted into the context of time, unlike personal entries. But I still like calendars best.
Calendars convey the passage of time at a glance. With minimal effort, you can see streaks and slumps—the latter of which is what I see every time I visit my weblog. What a perfect segue into what I like about calendars most: the guilt-trip.
