Dropped Stories
I'm updating just to get rid of the nagging in the back of my mind. I don't really feel like updating—not in the mood at all—but these stories deserve to be mentioned.
Vladimir Putin c/o 2004: I'm serious. Really. Graduated from Berkeley's Haas School of Business. Okay, not really. In classic Russian style (inside joke, don't ask), my high-school-friend Dmitriy pulled a nice prank at the Haas commencement. Since business has so many students, each one carried a slip of paper with their name on it. After Dmitriy went on stage, he gave his cap and gown to his friend who snuck back into the line going on stage. The name on his slip? Vladimir Putin. (sadly, no one seemed to notice)
A True Hollywood Ending: David faced Goliath—and David dominated. I always root against the Lakers (and the Yankees, FYI). I never liked their attitude. It's disgustingly arrogant to believe you don't need to play hard every night. Anyway, congratulations, 2004 Pistons!
Easter Egg: When Jet visits the mystic in the last episode of Cowboy Bebop, there is a Playstation in the upper right (overhead view). Wonder what games he has.
Current Design Comments: Graphics entries to do not show up in IE (Mac and Win). I will not fix that. I am unhappy with the current design. I like the typography of the navigation and the colors and shape of the spotlight section. However, overall, the planning and execution feels subpar. Just looking at Douglas Bowman's recent redesign feels like a swift kick in the pants. New design pending.
