Heavy Tuesdays

College is just like high school: after three years, practically everyone I know ends up with the same classes. Some sat in on all three classes that I'm taking. I don't think any of them will keep all three, but they'll still be members of the sizable group which shares two classes with me.

Alright, I'll be honest. It usually doesn't happen to this extent; college students usually take classes in packs, but this year's circumstances forced many people's hands, so to speak. EE 117 (Electromagnetic Waves), EE 123 (Digital Signal Processing), and EE 142 (Integrated Circuits for Communications) are all fall-only. So for seniors like me, this semester is our only chance to take those classes. The result: everyone that's EE-oriented who hasn't taken those classes will—including a few daring souls that don't meet the prerequisites.

The lectures of the aforementioned three classes are back-to-back-to-back, ordered by course number (117, 123, 142). They remind me of 3-CD, RPG soundtracks: first disc has some good tracks, second disc is an utter bore, and the third disc is fantastic. Today's EE 142 lecture was particularly exciting. It was like a movie! Professor Niknejad doesn't disappoint.

Niknejad: Stick it to the FCC!
